The Dalles - 2007
by Pat Farrell
I just wanted to say that the three day 2007 SACA/NW Tour and Steam Clinic put
on by Eric Gleason and Bob Ullrich at The Dalles was one of the best tours that
I have attended this year. There were 6 steam cars that attended in addition to
the many SACA members (Eric knows how many).
The scenery was breath taking and the climates were varied. From evergreen
forests, to wheat fields, just about any climate possible was experienced.
Sunshine followed the tours each day and we didn't miss any meals. The steam
clinic was well attended as repairs were demonstrated as they were needed. Our
Mt. Wagon traveled about 170 miles over all during the three days of touring.
Many of the tour people were new members that are planning on owning a steam car
in their near future. We all stayed at the Shiloh Inn, in The Dalles, the same
place where a SACANW meeting was last held there in the mid 1970s.
