Thomas W. Dawson has been an active antique automobile enthusiast since
the age of 14. This book features some of the highlights of that hobby,
with an emphasis on the most challenging of all the cars he has
owned—the Stanley Steamer.
Years were spent learning how to operate and maintain the unique
workings of this steam car. During that process, many interesting
experiences were encountered and recorded by the author. Steam car
owners and enthusiasts will find detailed information they can draw on
in repairing and maintaining their own vehicles.
Over 100 color photos of antique autos, auto tours, illustrations,
vintage advertisements, and technical illustrations will delight the
automobile history buff as well as the mechanically minded.
