1/2 scale 20 hp Stanley

Hello, long time steam fan here who decided to try something a little different then just building steam engines from casting kits. I am working on scaling down the Stanley 20 hp engine to 1/2 scale. Not an easy task. I purchased the plans from the Stanley museum and I am currently working on some patterns for casting.
Just curious if any one has ever done this before? My long term goal for this project it to build a steam car for toying around with. Yea im nut but what the heck right?

Scaled models of Stanley cars and engines have been built before. I have seen one around twenty inches long built by a woman modeler. Nice work.
I have heard of others
Try building an engine six inch long that from a photograph you can’t tell the difference from the real thing.

I can’t find a photo of a Stanley but this is a fine example, every thing works and runs.

2 in bore 2.5 stroke, I have started making the patterens for the frome cross members and will post a pic of the here soon. They will be cast in bronze, im not quite up to pouring iron just yet.The real tricky part is machining the threads on the inside of the cylinders as my little lathe isnt big enough to swing them.Maybe i can borrow some lathe time from someone?

Makeing some more progress, did a test pour in aluminum today and all looks well.
Next step is to get them out in bronze and start mounting the frame cross members so I can pour them. Than on to some more patterns.
