Steam car reading

Every quarter I receive the "Auburn Heights Herald". It is put out by "The Friends of Auburn Heights Preserve, Inc. This quarter it is 12 pages of vintage steam and updates of their operation in Yorklyn, Delaware. Formerly owned by Thomas Marshall Jr., they have the largest collection of "operating" steam cars in the world and they have anoperating museum that is open to the general public. Their publication this time covered technical articles such as Stanley Steering Wheels on Non-Condensing Cars by P.Michael May, and also an article of their 1913 Model 78 undergoing complete restoration by "The Stanley Shop" owned by Charlie Johnson. I consider it required reading for serious Stanley collectors. To find more about them, go on line to <www.auburnheights.org>
Another "Must Have" read is "The Tale of Two Dobles" by Barry Herbert. Its 253 pages of vintage Doble steam photos plus history, maintenance, restoration, and true adventure is covered in this exciting book. More information on this book can be found at [www.steamcar.net]
