Winter Stanley steamer parking

Our Museum gets down to about 28 degrees F. during the winter months. I have found that by covering the steamers over with either a car cover or just a parachute, it helps keeps them from freezing, especially if a clamp light is fastened somewhere underneath. With the light bulb on, it can be a sweltering 50 degrees inside the steamer while the room temperature is down to about 28 degrees. If it gets any colder than that, I will fire up the wood heater to keep the freeze damage away. By covering them up this way, they are ready to roll, and we can drive our steamers year round.
