To settle the estate of Robert B. Schall the following will be auctioned on June 30, 2012 in Farmington, MO.

2.1925 Willys Knight "sleeve engine"

4.1938 Ford 4 door sedan convertible
5.1923 Ford Huckster
6.1919 Vim truck
7.two 1953 Dodge Power wagons
8.1928 Seagrave fire truck

This car was restored in the early '60s by Dave Root. He wrote a couple of stories about it in The Steam Automobile in 1964 and 1968 -

Notice that the second article describes an event very similar to the fatal one at Knott's Berry Farm in 1969.

Fuels carry risks. Use them with the correct care.

Dear Kelly, Accidents with propane are avoidable by just not using propane at all with your steamers. Over and over I hear from people saying to beware of the boilers of the steamers because they are so dangerous. They never seem to mention the hazards of these firewagons when the wrong fuels are used or improperly handled. Boilers are not the big danger with a steam car, it is the fuels that are used. Please everyone, for your safety and ours, don't use propane with your steamers and always remain vigilant on the proper use of your fuels.
