Pat I found a Locomobile but could not find the model 72. Was there a photo?
Lot of neat stuff.

No photo shown, but the model 72 was listed after the 1900 Mobil type 3 steamer. The 72 was listed as a "Stanley Brothers, #72, Beautifully restored, 2-Piston Steam, Red w/Black Top, Amazing!." If the Stanley Brothers #72 is referring to the Mobil, then what does # 72 refer to with the Mobil? 72 inch wheel base? Originally, the model 72 was a 1911 Stanley mid year release of a aluminum skinned bodied roadster. Nowadays, I see the model 72 referring to 1909 to 1911 20 hp roadster receations with only a wood body. There were so many great cars listed for the auction without photos, I didn't expect to see a photo of the Stanley.

I would think if it was a Model 72 then there would be a photo as it would be of some value compared to a model T

It might be the number of the early Stanley carriage and it’s not a Locomobile.

I noticed that the Mobil was red with a black top. That would tie all of the description to the 1900 Mobil. #72? yes, that could be a serial number.
