Hood hinges? Depends on which model you are working on which type of hood hinge that you will need. Assuming that you are working on a non-condensing Stanley, I perfer to use the National number N211-805 Decorative brass hinge. It also had the stock number V1812. It is heavy enough, brass, and only needs the front half trimmed and another hole drilled for the one hole that was trimmed off. To the hood, there are three rivets used on each hinge half. To the firewall, it has three screws each into the firewall stand off strips. I perfer to drive the brass pins out of the hinges and replace each of them with a cotter pin. The cotter pin can easily be removed and used over and over again without any problems. Otherwise, a person would have to unscrew the hinges from the firewall and soon the attaching hinge screw holes are stripped out. While on the road, to drive out a tight fitting hood hinge pin, it is no fun either.
