I started on a new motorcycle 3"bore by 4"stroke 2 cylinder engine with a 21.5" od x 14" high boiler. I have it geared 500 rpm at 100 mph. Does that seem high? I can change the outside sprocket real easily. [www.youtube.com]

HI Bill,
What size boiler are you using?..... do you want speed or accell?...a slower engine speed could translate to less steam consumption and a smaller boiler, which could help with weight and handling.....I am sure you already have been thorugh this once on the other bike!!

Bill
I can maintain 1106 engine RPM without dropping boiled pressure with my 18 inch Diameter boiler in my EX wt. 1300 Lb.
One thing I would do is check the eccentric bolts and if there original they are not long enough to install cotter pins on the back side of the straps. Make new bolts, should be ¼-30 long enough for pins. I have had them back out and drop the balls. The other week link are the valve rods. New steal wouldn’t hurt.
