Jim Merrick just reported: "Sad to say, we just got word today that Buck Boudeman, who owns the Roper bike, passed away last Tuesday, Sept. 23. He was 73 - ironically, the same age as Roper. I only met him once, when he visited the Stanley Museum a few years ago with his beautiful little Moxie Stanley delivery wagon - I was just in awe of the man's skill."
I have been both to Bucks shop and on tour with him and he was a very skilled man that could do anything. His Vanderbilt Cup racers were a sight to behold. l watched him drive by me one day doing over 90 mph with one. Following chase was his Ford pick up with a 460 cubic inch motor. According to his pick up driver, the truck was doing 90 mph and it could not catch Buck who was not only steaming up hill but Buck was pulling away from the truck. Buck will be greatly missed.
