All 1913 and earlier Stanleys were all retrofitted with a pilot tank from where ever the owner could find one. With kerosene now used as the main fuel, 1914 Stanleys and later, pilot tanks were all installed by the manufacturer. Your tank looks like a converted tank of some sort. It has the correct cap, fittings, fuel gauge, and hand valves that a Stanley would use. The fuel gauge on it alone is probably worth a lot more than what you had to pay for the whole thing. It was a good find.
