HI ,
I am looking for 1908 H5 fenders, and I hear the EX,H5 and K are the same, can anyone shed light on this?

There not exactly the same. On some H cars the fenders are similar to the EX but the H5 the front fenders where they attach to the running board are beveled on and angle. The H and K cars are longer wheel base and the dimensions would be different.

There also seems to be inconsistancy in the shape of the wood fenders,,
as well as changing shape over the years and poor storage,,
Rolly,,What is your comment on Wood, holding its shape over 100 year
period,,Wonder if Stanley used any violin glue in the cars,,
Certainly they knew glues better than most auto people,as well as
how the glue dries,,or not,,!!
Cheers,,Ben

I’m only 76 Ben, I’ll have to let you know in another 25 years.
On my EX I laminated them up in three layers.

I used three layers of Poplar 3/16 thick and did it cold. The EX dimensions can be found hear.

Router the detail grove first while the board is flat.
If I were you I would go measure up a few sets of fenders from the correct car.

I met with Willis Abel, and had measurements from another 1908 H5, and we confirmed that the mountain wagon fenders are identical for 1909.
