Here is a stamp I found on ebay......was there any yellow car or was this just dreamed up?
I could not find any reference to yellow in Kit Foster book.
I think it would look good.

They fashioned that after the attached photo of H5 #3719. Being a black & white photo, they may have guessed at the color scheme. Or just decided it looked good, which I agree that it does. The actual car, at the time of the photo, was beige with brown accents - kind of blah. But James Melton painted it that way, and he must have liked those colors, because he did Model 71 #5781 the same way.

Maynard Leighton and Bob Barnes always insisted there were yellow
Stanleys,,,early on,,tiller steer,,like my old 1900 [ ? ] side bar,,
There is info PRINTED in july-Aug 1901 Lewiston Journal,,,
and I think the cars existed before the newsprint,,
The yellow identified the Stanley,,fastest thing around,,
bar none,,100 years later,,still is, amongst its contemporarys,,
Hats off to the men who have helped preserve the legend,,
Last year my blacck racer clocked 84 Hp at only 15 MPH !!
on Pete's chassis dyno just up the streeet from NHIS [speedway]
at Loudon NH,,
The body yellow was EARLY,,
Cheers,,Ben
