Repairing Derr boiler

Does anyone know someone who'd be interested in repairing a Derr boiler? This is an original boiler made by Thomas himself. The car is in upstate New York, but they are willing to transport it.

Thanks,

Kelly

Kelly
If they hydro,ed it and it leaking through a tube or weld.
From my own experience, it most likely is not worth it.
You build a new one. A Derr has a very high labor hours.

Thanks Rolly. Do you figure it takes more hours to fix than to build? Or is it that if there are some leaks, there are probably more coming?

It’s all speculation without testing it.
You indicated it required repair. If that’s the case as a builder I would not repair it because of its age.
Backmann Boat shop in North Kingstown RI has a code boiler shop that has built custom boilers for people. 401 294 1030
Maybe they might be interested in the project.

Atomizing burner, installed by Derr in the early '30s.
