The Virtual Steam Car Museum is pleased to announce an anonymous, ten-week, $20,000 Challenge Grant to publish the H. H. Stewart Biography.

New Zealand parties have pledged an additional $5,000 towards the $50,000 total.

The details are in the latest VSCM newsletter. If you are not receiving the newsletter, you may sign up on the VSCM web site at www.virtualsteamcarmuseum.org.

If we fail to raise the remaining $25,000 by June 30th, we lose the $20,000 challenge grant.

This biography, which is the result of over 4 years research by a national prize winning Historian of Technology, contains not only the previously unpublished history of Stanley and Doble in New Zealand, but also a huge amount of data on many US steam car manufacturers.
This hard cover book contains over 450 previously unpublished illustrations and some 150,000 words. The book designer is a major prize winner who specializes in museum publications. The printing will be of excellent quality. Every steam car enthusiast will want a copy.

The Virtual Steam Car Museum seeks as few as five donors willing to invest $5,000 or more. Every donor will be formally recognized in a special acknowledgement section at the front of the book (or listed as anonymous), and may receive up to 10 autographed copies before general distribution. Sponsors above $10,000 may write a paragraph or two and include a personal photograph if he or she sees fit.

The sponsor or sponsors may honor a friend or family member, or use the opportunity as a memorial. Be among the first to own a copy of the prestigious new publication on the history of Stanley and Doble vehicles in New Zealand . The author has written extensively on 19th century manufacturing technology. His resume includes over 125 books and articles. He has worked at the Smithsonian Institution, the Milwaukee Public Museum, the Outagamie Museum, and the Stanley Museum.

The Virtual Steam Car Museum, Inc. is a 501 (c) (3) non-profit educational corporation. Sponsorship funds are fully tax deductible to the extent provided by law.
