<HTML>Found details ...forwarding picture if I can figure out were to post it.It's
Citreon traction car club with members from all over the world riding .Stanley welcome too.
They have done two round the world's-88&92.
Two Australia in98 &2000.US summer of this year. NorthAfrica in 2003.central Africa2004.Asia 2006.Red China2008.
They figure if you do something long enorgh. It will make auto news inspite public of bias and spark new interest in steam cars in general.
Even have their own site which is actually easier to get to than San Diego Citreon Steamsite.

<HTML>Appears that Traction doesn't mean steam after all.
Chalk one screw-up for the rookie looking for a modern...semi-modern steamcar or steam kitcar. I figure boats can have steam launch plans and kits
Why not cars.Anyone know where I can find one.</HTML>

<HTML>Arnold,
Not one that you would want to live with. Staggering around the block enveloped in clouds of steam is not something that equates with a new steamer that one can use on freeways and as general transportation. A good and powerful system in a new vehicle purchased just for such a conversion.
This indeed is something that SACA and the rest of us maybe should give a lot of thought to, a really up to date set of at least general plans for a new steam car worthy of the name.
However, do remember, that while lot of people want a steam car, it takes real money and lots of engineering skill to make it happen. That cuts out 99.9% of the steam car enthusiasts right there.

<HTML>You can get a peek at the Peter Barrett powerplant plans here.
He has been running this system in a
VW kit car for years. It's a tested design,
and it sounds like it's very close to what you want..

This site has some advice on titling and
licensing home built vehicles.

Some states which require insurance will
allow you to insure yourself, rather than
insure the vehicle. Probably cheaper, it's
certainly less complex to obtain, and it's
a perfect excuse to NOT let other people
drive your steam car.</HTML>

<HTML>Thanks, I know I like his generator for sure based on what steam builders seem to say.Not sure about engine.
Got to read a lot more steam reference material to have "real" opinion
on this new ,for me at least topic.</HTML>

<HTML> Sounds interesting, What is left of Route 66 is now basically I-44 and I-40 which ran from Chicago to LA. Historic Stretches are marked and good 2 lane beside interstate exists, I doubt they want to play on the big road</HTML>
