Vaporizer

<HTML>Last weekend we held our SACA-NE tour. Saturday my car ran just fine all day. I had lowered my vaporizer from about 1-1/2” from the burner plate, down to only ½” from the plate. I went all day with out ever having to prick my jets. The out side of the branch forks at the center before they divide had a temperature of 850F
I would have thought the radiant heat in side the burner would be pretty constant. There has to be a relationship between the cooler fuel & air coming through the burner plate and the velocity of the gases being drawn up through the boiler to keep the area a bit cooler. Also the relationship of the speed at which the fuel is passed through the vaporizer coil and burned to keep it from cracking.
Sunday I developed a leaky tube and did nor run.
