Owls Head Museum in Maine is having an auction and in their auction they have a couple of steam cars up for sale. The link to their website is [knox.villagesoup.com]
Quote: "Two of the earliest vehicles for sale are an 1899 Marlboro Steam Car and a 1907 Stanley Model F Steamer. At the turn of the century, steam vehicles competed head-to-head with both electric and gasoline-powered automobiles. Today, they are rare and highly collectible among a select group of automobile enthusiasts."

Pat,
Thanks for the info. A few years ago our SACA/NE club visited a small museum near Sunapee NH and in it was a very rare Marlboro steamer, the ;museum owner was quite advanced in age at the time and I wonder if it is the same car. He had a marvelous collection of all kinds of collectible stuff.
When SACA member Frank Cook passed away his family is having a huge estate auction in September including much stanley stuff and several cars. I am sure you know Frank and his son Billings Cook.
