Anyone know what is the correct colour for the cast aluminium base of the windshield on a model 607 or 606 Stanley - black or blue? Or blue with just the edge picked out in black to match the body mouldings?

Our car is being painted at the moment!

Attached is a photo of Allen Blazick's 606 taken by him. It's original paint is hard to make out but it looks like the windshield riser is painted the body color which is Russian blue (very dark blue). On my 606 I painted the windshield riser the body color too. This question is a hard one to answer. The vertical cord hardware is what was originally used to hold down the top in the 606 model.

To be more exact: The edge was picked out black to match the body mouldings with the rest of the windshield riser painted body color. See attachment.

Peter, I have the side lights for you car and the color on our unresored 1914 is black. Allen

Allen, Is your unrestored 606 whole body painted black or just the windshield riser painted black with the body being painted Russian blue? It is hard to tell in your photo. I have seen unrestored 607 Stanleys that had the body color all black, but I haven't seen an unrestored 607 Stanley that was Russian Blue yet. Your unrestored 606 could answer a lot of color questions if the body color was Russian Blue. Russian Blue is a very dark blue which will look black in poor lighting.
