Dear John,
You will have seen in the forum my topic on ductile iron for cylinder blocks.
Here are pictures of a broken off frame lug and an intact lug after magnaflux crack testing which showed up a crack right along the
angle of the lug.
This is on my dry 20hp Model H engine - now repaired and running again.
