For cold storage: After draining the water supply tank and boiler, I presurizing it with air, and after blowing the throttle valve and every accessory dry, I add 1 gallon of RV antifreeze to the water tank. I hand pump it into the boiler until it flows out of the boiler's blow down hand valves. I then close the blow down valves. I leave the steam chest valve open. A couple of times during the winter, I will rock the steam car back and forth a few times to keep the engine free. There is a little more to it than this, but this is the biggest part of it. For warm storage, I leave the boiler full of water. I will still rock the steamer back and forth a few times during the winter's storage.
