Winker Check

Getting my car back ready to fire after re-tubing the boiler. The steam oil delivery line was full of water and before the boiler went I noticed that the oil delivery had dropped.
It looks like a wimpy spring in the check valve.
Anyone have any ideas for a source of a correct spring? I've emailed the Goolds but no reply to date.
AutoZone guy just gave me a funny look and rolled his eyes.

Many thanks

I use two check valves between the winker and the back side of the steam loop. No springs. Has worked well. The wimpy spring in the winker works well too.

Vintage Steam Products now has winker glass gaskets in stock to go with our winker glasses. They were made by the same people who made the winker glasses, so they are the perfect fit.

See #279 Winker Glasses and #279B Winker Glass Gaskets.

Very best wishes for successful steaming in 2012!
