Stanley Gauges

<HTML>I recently saw a 0-40 PSI gauge made by the "Crosby Steam Gauge + Valve Co. Boston that had "Stanley Motor Company" on it serial 409743. It looked like an old gauge for a 10 HP Stanley.

Most Stanley gauges that I am familar with say "Stanley Motor Carriage Co. Newton Mass" on their face and were made by the Ashton Valve Company in Boston Mass.

Can someone shed some light on the name change or provide some early history?</HTML>

<HTML>A year ago I inquired about a simular gauge on ebay with Art Hart. He said that it was used by the 1901 and 1902 Stanleys. SSsssteamer</HTML>

<HTML>Dick,
I talked to our regional historian and steam collector Coburn Benson this weekend and his encyclopedic mind poured fourth lots of details and dates on the various gauges, faces and sizes. Unfortunately his computer has been down for 6 weeks so he cannot respond via the forum anymore. If you want to please call him 207-793-2800 in Maine and he would be glad to talk with you,
Best, George</HTML>
