Glidden Tour 61

<HTML>My 735 Stanley 5 person tourer has a sticker from the Glidden Tour 1961 on the window. It is from the year 1919 but have condenser and headlamps like a 1921. Does any one have information of this car?</HTML>

<HTML>The 1990 Sprague Register of Stanley Steam Cars says this about Stanley serial number 19021: Owner: Joseph Craig Bernard. Purchased 11/88 from Bob Way via Carl Amsley. Mostly original, unrestored; runs well. Purchased in '40s by T.C. Marshall. Sold to Way in early '50s. Updated in '30s with later drum headlights and bumpers. Excellent running car, used on many tours. Restoration is planned.</HTML>

Pa,,,Mr Way s home,,,we drove from his house up a small hill to a greenhouse he owned,,,an went back,,,It was a 5 pass car w/ that bussel backover the fuel tank,,,had been restored many years before an needed it again,,,,It was a nice old car,,,an' a pleasant ride,,,Cheers Ben</HTML>

The owner before me bought the car from Carl Amsley.
It still have the patina you decribe, and is not quite running yet.
I am still interested in the cars history and a photo, if possible.
