<HTML>To all:

Spilling, the German company that developed an oil-free steam engine
has now a new UK web site

A little more information about the oil-free steam cylinder technology
can be found at:

The cylinder linings and piston rings are made of ceramic (silicon nitride
and silicon carbide).

Good reading!

<HTML>Thanks Jean !

I am still looking for steam aeroplanes. I found a 1923 popular science monthly with an article on steam aeroplanes but it was mostly conjecture. The cover has an artists rendering of an experimental German steam plane that inspired the article. From the smoke coming out of the stacks it looks like it is burning coal. The article describes it as oil fired though.
