Building Cars Takes a Political Machine
Look Closely it can be Clearly Seen
The Followers Stay Alive
Favors Determine What We Drive
Not Because it is Safe efficient or Clean

We will be Driving Fuel Cells Soon
All the Experts Continue to Croon
With No Hydrogen Supply
and Costs still Just so High
NASA Can't Afford to Go Back to the Moon

The Electric Has Such a Short Run
No Performance is Just No Fun
Problems that Plague Them Today
From 1900, Have Never Gone Away

Turbines Seemed a Sure Bet
Many Prototypes Roared Like a Jet
With Research Decades Long
More Than 10 Companies Strong

Still Only a Subsudized Test
Just to Find Out How Bad

Someday Atomic Cars Will be the Best Deals
As Long as the Reactors Have Good Seals
Or You Would be Driving Down The Street
Waving To Everyone You Meet
In a Three Mile Island on Wheels

Internal Combustion has Been A Convient Slave
Over a Century but Now Ready for the Grave
No Room for More Controls Under the Hood
Even if You Really Thought You Could
There is Nothing Left There to Save

They Steam Has Had it's Day
More Than Once Passing this Way
If Pollutution is to be Stopped
The IC Engine Must Be Dropped
Then the Steamer Will be Here to Stay

<HTML>There once was a steamer from SES
whose developers called it the best
But its water rate was high,
and its controls made you cry
-- they filled several rooms for the test!

There once was a car called the Doble
A steamer so mighty and noble
It blew doors off of Duesies
and wowed all the floozies
and got its inventor in trouble.
