Oldtime Steamcars by John Bentley

<HTML>Dear Ken, You have the wrong Weston steam car. The Weston that you have mentioned was only built in 1901 and there were 50 planned to be built but it is unknown how many if any, were eventually built. Weston Steam of Orange, Massachusett, built from 1899 through 1903 is the one that you should look at. My reference book says: Weston is the name given to the steam car produced by the Grout Brothers of Orange when it was sent overseas to be marketed in England. It was handled there by the Weston Motor Syndicate on Regent Street in London. Five varied models were offered including a touring Weston, which "The Autocar" described as a "really handsome and servicable carriage....with smart leather hood and imitation cane panelled body." The Weston was available in England from 1899 to 1903.</HTML>

<HTML>Tim,

There's a couple of pages on the Grout in the John Bentley book, Clymer's book has a half page advert - I'll scan them and email them to you.
