Graham Baker Link -- Valve Seals, Billet Engines

<HTML>Howdy Folks,

Figured I'd give this its own subject line so it isn't lost in the shuffle.

Go to:

[firedragon.com]

and you will find info on how Graham Baker builds cylinder heads with steam passages from steel plate, plus info on his poppet valves, cams, & valve seals, converting diesel pumps for steam car fuel/water pumping, pot burners as pilot lights, and more. This is real home-shop workhorse stuff.

At least I _think_ you'll find that here. I believe these are .pdf files of the appropriate articles from The Steam Automobile (TSA). I haven't figured out how to use .pdf files on my webtv terminal yet, so I haven't actually seen these pages, except in the original paper format which I have in my files. Kudos to Graham Baker for excellent work, and to Karl Peterson for scanning and webbing these though-provoking and info-packed articles (hope the original pictures are in there too, if not the page shows which back issues of TSA to order from SACA).

<HTML>Per John's Admin suggestion, here is my attempt at a clickable version of this link:

Does the carrot icon mean it has to be inside html style carrots? I'll try that too.

[firedragon.com]

One of these should end up clickable.

<HTML>Congratulations Peter- It is nice to see someone take an interest in the very technology that makes this forum possible. You have successfully created what is called an HTML "tag". The function of this "tag" being to streamline the flow of information for the reader.

Angle brackets < > enclose HTML and create a "tag" that, among other things, provides formating of text and delivery of remote content to the page.

I really enjoy reading the forum discussions, but my days have been too full to post more than a few rare comments.

Here is the tag, enclosed with straight brackets, (so that it remains visable) that displays our logo image-

Replace the [ ] with < > and the tag is hidden and the target image is diaplayed
[img src="http://www.stanleysteamers.com/pageone/newlogo4b.jpg"]

...It says:
...image source (fetch and display here) = "address"

<img src="http://www.stanleysteamers.com/pageone/newlogo4b.jpg">

Some day someone will use this to display a photo in their post.
1) find a photo on the web
2) right click on the photo and select Properties from the menu
3) copy [ctrl][C] the URL of the photo
4) paste [ctrl][V] the url into the post composition form
5) add img src=" "
6) enclose in angle bracketts
7) Whew! take a nap... ;-)

Nice Moo-shoe pork Pete. I will have to borrow that!

CYa,

JW

<HTML>Hi John,

Thanks; I should have figured that it worked just like a regular html tag with the carrot/angle brackets.

I too have been too busy lately to contribute much to the Forum. Work on the pump unit proceeds at a snail's pace in spare time.

Thanks for the URL of your logo; I will now of course be adding it to your link at the links page of my website

Hey, these clickable links are fun! :)

This has nothing to do with anything, but I just glanced out my window and saw a shooting star. Odd! Do the gods favor my clickable links? :)
